About
Stephanie Simcox is an Australian photographer and storyteller whose practice moves between documentary realism and contemporary portraiture. She focuses on human led portraiture that bridges editorial storytelling and commercial campaigns. Her work is narrative, considered, and adaptable, creating compelling images for brands, publications, and social impact initiatives. Her photographs carry a painterly sensibility and deep sensitivity to her subjects, placing the human experience at the centre of every visual story.
Her work has been commissioned by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Australian National Geographic, Panos Pictures, and The United Nations. Recognised internationally, her award-winning portraiture has featured in the Australian National Portrait Prize, the Maggie Diaz Award, and the Moran Prize, among others.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the National Art School and studied at the Danish School of Media and Journalism. She is a member of Women Photograph International. Now based in outer Sydney, her practice continues to bring human narratives into focus—intimate, powerful, and grounded in lived experience.
